I loved our daughter’s Halloween costume last year. She dressed up as a trick-or-treat bag. It was everything I wanted her costume to be – funny, cute, creative, easy for her to wear, fun for me to make… This year, however, as a 2 year old, she has her own opinions about what she wants to be for Halloween – a ballerina. So this year we just bought an ordinary costume with a tutu from a store (much to my dismay as I had big plans to make her some sort of cute and clever thing to wear. And now it still remains to be seen if she will actually wear said tutu when the time comes…) But, ahhh, last year, the year of the trick-or-treat bag costume – those were the days!
The trick-or-treat bag costume was so easy to make. I just got an assortment of felt, felt stick on letters, and candy corn ribbon from Michaels. I cut zig zags in the top of a brown felt rectangle and labeled it “Trick-or-Treat” to make the front of the bag. I made little candy decorations out of felt and attached them to the top of the bag. Finally I attached the candy ribbons to the bag so it would tie on like an apron. It looked so cute on our daughter with an orange top and black pants. The best part – our daughter actually wore it! At least for a little while… Happy Halloween!
